Native Kansan and New York based photographer, Isabel Vanlandingham, was born in 2002. While growing up in Kansas and Spain, she developed an eye for capturing her surroundings through documentary style photography. Isabel has recieved a BFA in design with a concentration in photography from the University of Kansas. While attending KU she was granted a research fellowship from the University’s Design Department as well as an Outstanding Presentation Award from the University’s Center for Undergraduate Research. Isabel was a Teaching Assistant for the photography program under the instruction of Lilly McElroy, and worked as a Video Editor for the History of Black Writing Program in the english department. Outside of KU she worked as a graphic designer for the political campaign, Kansas Vote No. Her work has been displayed in exhibitions at The Phoenix Gallery in Lawrence, Kansas, the University of Kansas Student Union Gallery and the Edgar Heap of Bird Family Gallery.
